Volunteer your time
If you have a few hours to share each month, your unique skills can help a student build critical real-world experience. Our volunteer needs include:
- Life skills workshops: Teach a session on cooking, budgeting, or basic home care.
- Driver’s training: Assist a scholar with driving practice hours.
- Financial guidance: Offer tax preparation or long-term financial planning advice.
- Career development: Provide internship leads, job shadowing, or career mentorship.
- Academic tutoring: Help scholars navigate challenging coursework.
- Scholar connection: Send a thoughtful birthday card to a scholar celebrating their day.
Support our resource closet
We accept a wide variety of tangible goods and professional services to help students cover everyday essentials. Your donations directly provide:
- Resource closet supplies: Grab-and-go dry goods, healthy snacks, and beverages.
- Daily necessities: Wellness products, welcome baskets, and move-in bedding items.
Donations can be dropped off in our office at Pierpont Commons, room B420.
Want to make a financial gift?
“The main challenges that I ran into before I could even come to school as a transitioning foster youth was paying for just small things like bedding and the moving in necessities. I was fortunate to immediately have support from the Blavin Scholars Program and volunteers.” — Blavin Scholar
