Campus Climate Support

We are here for students who have experienced behaviors, comments, or incidents that negatively impact their sense of belonging, inclusion, or well-being within the university community.

Your support team

While formal investigations are handled by the Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office (ECRT), our Campus Climate Support team is here to help with any additional needs. Whether you choose to file a formal report or just need a safe space to talk, you can connect with us directly for:

  • reporting options
  • support and referrals
  • campus resources
  • safety suggestions
  • social connections

How to file a formal report

If you’ve experienced or witnessed a discriminatory or harassing climate concern and want the university to take official action, you can file a report directly with the Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office (ECRT).

Helpful Resources

A positive campus climate helps students learn, grow, and feel a sense of belonging. Here are some campus partners and resources to help you stay safe and supported.

The Expect Respect Campaign

Expect Respect is a campus-wide effort to build a respectful and inclusive place where everyone feels seen and valued. If you would like Expect Respect materials like posters, stickers, or buttons, fill out our request form.

Email expectrespect@umich.edu to:

  • Request a workshop on topics like cultural appropriation, social identities, inclusive campus culture, or respectful communication.
  • Bring Expect Respect to another school or university campus.
